The Renegade Drive-In Movie Theater for 2010 is going to be different. Much different.
- We are making it bigger and better and turning it into its OWN art piece
- Six screens will be set up like a traditional drive-in movie theater
- Each screen will have the capability to play its own content or be synced with the other screens
“The basic concept of the theater is a fully surrounded visual and interactive participant controlled theater. Images are meant to be viewed on both sides of 6 screens and look continuous when the images are projected side by side. This is done via the use of six projectors individually connected to a splitter box then linked to a computer. The images we provide can stand alone or be projected side by side to create a continuous effect. The images are participant triggered by a 30 key midi controller. The first 29 keys trigger different computer generated images and the 30th (last key) changes the 29 keys before it to all new images. Approxamately 8 different filters/effects can be applied to the images by the participant by turning the various knobs and sliders on the midi controller making the possibility of ever having the exact same image twice nearly impossible. We’ve also made it so the splitter box is easily connected to another computer so that other visual artists, editors & what not can easily use our creations as their canvas.”
