L.I.B.: Leave It Better, Leave It Beautiful!
LIB stands for active change for a better world. We live in a time where it is no longer enough to simply “Leave No Trace”, or do no further harm.
We live in a time when it is required of us as planetary citizens to take active strides toward improving the environmental, social, cultural, and biological degradation that lies before us.
LIB’s Environmental Mission is to provide an event where attendees participate in a forward thinking environment where they will not only learn about important social, environmental, and cultural issues, but also actively engage in an extended experience of adopting these philosophies into practice.
LIB is in its essence Ecotherapy. By spending a weekend in nature somatically engaging in a collaborative community environment, participants leave nourished, reinvigorated, and inspired to bring these practices back to their home communities and into the rest of their lives.
LIB is a Leader in the Green Festival Movement
From Day 1 we have been leading the green festival standard by introducing innovative policies such as
• free filtered water
• creating stages and art from rapidly renewable and reused materials, such as bamboo, rattan, and trash
These policies have been adopted worldwide alongside our organic stages and art, which is featured at festivals across the globe.
Through our purchasing choices, green vendor policies, waste management standards, and renewable energy supplier sourcing, we are constantly striving to push the industry standard a step forward.
Since 2007 we have published the Green Report as a guide for industry professionals and academics to learn from our successes and failures, and communicate a collaborative effort in the green festival movement.
