Lovers of all things Drum and Bass rejoice!! Lightning in a Bottle has got you covered this year with special performances from some of the premiere D&B artists of our time. Specializing in powerful bass lines, breakbeat rhythms, and unfathomable versatility – typically in the 160 – 180 BPM range – this year’s drum and bass artists should satisfy even the most devout fans. Besides the highly anticipated performances of UK legends IVY LAB and CALYX & TEEBEE on the Thunder Stage, attendees will also discover artists like ANDRELIEN (formerly Heyoka) and PROKO who will be holding down the side stages like the Pagoda Bar.
First off, if you haven’t heard of Ivy Lab yet it’s time to get acquainted. Ever since the group’s inception in 2013 they’ve been steadily making a name for themselves launching their own label in 2014 by the name of 2020 LDN. This UK-based trifecta specializes in a unique blend of deep halftime drum and bass that has been taking the world by storm. Currently touring the states as a duo, Ivy Lab has been converting artists and listeners alike to this particular form of DnB.
Existing on a whole other part of the drum and bass spectrum is the legendary Calyx & TeeBee. To DnB enthusiasts worldwide this London based duo represents the epitome of high quality, perfectly sculpted music. Friends since the late nineties and collaborators since 2004 these two talented individuals have been impacting the scene for over 15 years. Their signature style of sophisticated percussion and high octane bass lines makes for an energetic dance floor experience like none other. If you like drum and bass do not miss their set.
In the event, you haven’t gotten your fix from the aforementioned performances head on over to the Pagoda Bar – a sanctuary of shade, cold drinks, and fresh tunes. Here you will find a variety of forward-thinking electronic music with that’s right, more drum and bass. One artist that stands out in this department is Andreilien. This adept producer has been in the game for years now creating many different styles of bass music; the most recent of which consists of psychedelic combinations of drumstep and halftime. Along with him, there’s PROKO, a wizard of alien bass music, who has a tendency to flex some mind altering halftime bangers amongst other sounds. Lightning in a Bottle is a melting pot of sonic eclecticness, with simply too much good music to cover in one place. Their attention to the finer details of drum and bass performances are case in point.
