LIB'ing Legends

LIB’ING Legends: Cherie Rae Russell

For those looking to unify the spirit, mind and body the lessons of Cherie Rae Russell will be a breath of fresh air. With a warm spirit and a calming disposition she leads yoga classes at Yoga Om and shares knowledge about nutrition in workshops at the festival.  At the core of many of her teachings is the belief that through the knowledge of eachother we can better understand ourselves. Perhaps more importantly, Cherie suggests that this shared connection also has the potential to heal our relationships with each other, ourselves and the Earth.

Tell us about your first experience contributing at LIB.

It was on the ranch with 100’s of hummingbirds. I brought a cooler of fresh squeezed juice and gave it to everyone because fresh squeezed juice is the secret to playing all day and night. ALL DAY. ALL NIGHT.

And i did yoga with 5 people.

What do you think makes LIB different from other festivals?

The family community is truthful, gentle and aware. I also like that there are food options with no meat and the festival encourages green efforts, like recycling.

What can guests expect to learn at your class this year?

In my class you will learn how to marry yourself everyday. To move your body, honor your body because if you change what your body is doing you change what your mind is doing.

You will also discover that self-love is the secret to creating a magic filled reality. In other words, that all the answers are inside of you.

You are an unrepeatable miracle and so is everyone everywhere.

Where can we most likely find you at LIB when you’re not presenting on stage, speaking in a workshop or teaching a class?

You can always find me at l.o.v.e. (which stands for: live. organic. visionary. evolution.)

I can also be found at the living foods booth.

If not there, try looking for me in one of the many workshops at the festival!

Describe LIB in three words or less.

  • oneness
  • inspiring
  • love

What are you currently working on?

Info about my practice can be found at Peace Yoga Gallery.
All my events are listed here so come pop in for a class and enjoy the best plant based food in our sweet l.o.v.e cafe

I shot 24 fun videos for and 4 are being released on april 7th covering:
-yoga for truckers
-the quickie (20 minute yoga for everyone)
-11 tips of a living food artist

I’ll also be leaving to teach at the Bali Spirit Yoga Festival soon. It’s a very sacred island to me because it healed me when my mom passed.

In a new series by Do LaB, we take a walk down the spiritual side of memory lane with the presenters that have returned to share wisdom at Lightning in a Bottle time and again with the ideas and practices that move our bodies and lift our hearts. To hold onto those moments that expand our consciousness and deepen our connection to one another, we commemorate the teachers who made them possible in a weekly interview series that we like to call LIBing Legends.
