LIB'ing Legends

LIB’ING Legends: Nature Dreamweaver

At the top of the hill in the High Grounds camp, there lies a mysterious (perhaps even magical) space known as Meditation Lookout. Here organic materials are arranged to inspire creativity; to promote intentional practices and to remind those who visit about the power at work in the forces of nature. Fitting that the artist who creates the art in this area should go by the moniker Nature Dreamweaver, since these “nests” are frequently dedicated to spiritual, invigorating experiences. Those who trek to the peak will be greeted by a holistic approach to decor and an earthy display of feng shui taken to a whole new level.

Tell us about your first experience contributing at LIB.

My first installation at LIB was a collaboration with the living legend Scott O’keefe, The Flower King and Bottle Cap Shaman as he is known in the underground. We created a flower garden mandala sanctuary outside the temple of consciousness the first year of it’s inception and the rest as they say, is history. This was a magical weekend that kicked off my second year of touring and creating art installations.

What do you think makes LIB different from other festivals?

With its grass roots firmly gripped in family, community, and burning man ethos, LIB truly has something for everyone. On the surface, it appears as as huge musical festival party with just stage and music but inside are worlds within worlds, realities within realities and dreams within dreams. LIB re-imagines a world filled with entertainment, education, enlightenment, joy, love, and FUN!

What’s a piece of advice you would give to someone coming to LIB for the first time?

Plant seeds of intention, but have low expectations. Open your heart, open your mind, free your spirit, and let your soul shine.

If you could perform with anyone on the LIB’17 Lineup who would it be and why?

Bonobo and many others.

Describe LIB in three words or less.

Imaginative Immersive Experience

What are you currently working on?

I’m on my 11th annual tour around the country creating art installations and performing. The theme for this year is the road to recovery and well-nest. I’ve been recovering from Lyme disease and it is healing to be out in the world creating, performing, and helping others. Currently, on the back burner, I have a documentary and a book.

In a new series by Do LaB, we take a walk down the creative side of memory lane with the co-creating artisans that have returned to Lightning in a Bottle time and again to express through experiences that inspire. To hold onto those moments that unleash our dreams, we commemorate the greats who made them possible in a weekly interview series that we like to call LIBing Legends.
