Lightning in a Paintcan

For the 5th year in a row The Do LaB and participating artists will be collaborating through live painting and a subsequent silent auction, to raise money for The Do LaB’s nonprofit – The Do ArT Foundation, in addition to directly supporting each artist. In previous years, donations went to Sonic Muze to provide musical instruments and art supplies to children in our public school system.

Here’s how it works: In the event grounds, there will be a full section for Lightning in a Paintcan where dozens of live painters will be creating work that is inspired by the festival.  Artists have been selected throughout the year, and have been invited based on their artistic merit.  This aspect of the festival has grown to become the West Coast’s premier live painting event.  Throughout the festival we will hold a silent auction where you can bid on a work of art that you love. Don’t miss this opportunity to access amazing art by the most talented live painters! A portion of the proceeds are donated to the Do ArT Foundation and the rest supports the artists. Passionate about promoting all contemporary art-forms and their hybrids, Do ArT Foundation recognizes the need to support creative productions for our community. You can read more about our mission and projects here: www.doartfoundation.org

The Art Walk is held from 7pm until 12midnight on Sunday where all the final live paintings are showcased.  This is the final opportunity to place your bids and take home your favorite piece of art!

Live Painting outside of Lightning in a Paintcan is encouraged in the campground area only. Please do not set up easels or paintings in the festival area. Any vending or sales of artwork or merchandise needs to be approved in advance by the LIB vending coordinators, Do ArT. Thank you for your understanding.
