This year Lightning in a Bottle’s truly global lineup features artists from an array of backgrounds including electronic, trip hop, R&B, folk and indie to create a one of a kind musical experience.
Headliners include San Francisco native dubstep and downtempo producer Bassnectar, LA-based festival favorite Lauren Lane, the electronic aficionado Jade Cicada hailing from Mass and Colorado based folk, bluegrass, indie rock fusion band Elephant Revival. Plus a special performance from former drummer for M.I.A., female activist and star vocalist Madame Gandhi.
From other corners of the world, LIB is looking forward to the psychedelic cumbia of Colombian trio Bomba Estereo; the Ecuadorian electronic DJ and musician Nicola Cruz, German-born soul-indie-IDM singer NoMBe, and the incredible Australian singer-songwriter RY X.
Safe to say, “lit” doesn’t even begin to describe the excitement ahead!
On the Lightning Stage are the legendary BonoboÂ with a full band in tow, neo-soul songstress Jhené Aiko, Australian alternative dance trio Rüfüs du Sol, and latin influenced hip hop artist and core creator of avant-garde performance group El Circo, El Papachango. As a favorite stage and celebrated space for the biggest acts on our music lineup, the Lightning stage continues to shine with culturally diverse performances from acts like Haitian-Canadian R&B marvel Kaytranada (live) alongside the most meteoric up-and-comers like conscious sensation Climbing Poetree.
As the home base to house and techno, there’s nothing like that irresistible Woogie vibe. Get to know the artists on the lineup with the playlist below! The Thunder stage is known for our bass-heavy acts and fiercest electronic deejays. In the Thunder Playlist including tracks from Israeli psychedelic dance musician Perfect Stranger, UK drum & bass producer trio Ivy Lab, international soulstress and vocalist Erica Dee, electronic acoustic beat crafter Plantrae, electronic producer Frameworks, and Glitch Mob’s own EdiT.
Live and funk music fans will gather at the Grand Artique to experience artists such as the soul and funk inspired band The California Honeydrops, international folk and grunge songstress Edith Crash, song and dance performance group the Cactus Wine Experience, gypsy-soul-funk musician Carlo, the awe-inspiring soul band ORGÔNE, and Afro-Cuban-infused Bootleg Sunshine.
