THEME 1: VISIONARY STATES

Alex Grey & Allyson Grey: Visionary Culture

The human urge to achieve altered states of consciousness through ingesting sacramental, mind-expanding substances is as old as history itself, from the cradles of Eastern and Western civilizations to contemporary trance and neo-shamanic subcultures. Plant medicines and chemical epiphanies have catalyzed a natural drive to risk hell to experience heaven, a drive that has unfolded into a modern-day spiritual movement.

In this presentation, visionary artists Alex Grey & Allyson Grey, will trace generations of God-seekers, offering extraordinary visual examples of inner journeys by masterful portrayals of mystic realms.

MAPS: Psychedelic JEDI Training

Psychedelic substances are finally getting destigmatized and decriminalized, and people are starting to wake up to their transformative potential.

JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion/Impact) frameworks offer an option for people to utilize the structures of the “default world” as a force for good, to repair historical harms and to create an irresistible and elegant bridge to the future. This dynamic workshop will explore if and how visionary states and “JEDI” mastery can help create and steward new paradigms, navigate internal and external conflict, and shape our society.

Paul Stamets: Psilocybin, Neurogenesis and the Mycology of Universal Consciousness

From magic to medicinal mushrooms, the life of Paul Stamets has followed mycelial paths that have led to stunning breakthroughs. His talk will cover a range of mushroom species and new research showing how our close evolutionary relationship to fungi can be the basis for novel pairings in the microbiome that lead to greater sustainability and immune enhancement.

Join Paul for this journey into the MycoVerse, deepening our understanding of our planet and ourselves along the way. Be. Prepared. to. be. blown. away.

THEME 3: THE MAGIC IS THE MEDICINE

James Nestor: Breath – The New Science of a Lost Art

We take in more air into our lungs each day than food and water combined—some 30 pounds of breath. There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than the act of breathing. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences.

This multimedia presentation, based on James Nestor’s upcoming book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art  (Riverhead/PRH May 2020), will explore the million years of evolutionary change that have affected our ability to breathe, and how to fix it.

Guided sessions throughout the presentation will allow the audience to experience several breathing techniques—pranayama, resonant breathing, Tummo, and more—while learning how these practices change our minds and bodies.

Normandi Ellis: Hieroglyphic Thinking & Oracles

Words are magic. They operate through sound, image, and intention. This class explores how the hieroglyphs work, how they were used and chanted as magical utterances and the ways in which you might work with them yourself.

Divination and dream were part of the potent priestly uses of hieroglyphs. We examine a few hieroglyphic oracle cards—not at all like Tarot cards, but just as effective. Talk to be followed by a 30-minute oracle card reading.

Isis Indriya: Tree of Life Ritual Technologies

Amidst these very charged and potent times, it has become increasingly important to gather, build, and refine our individual and collective Ritual toolset. As our culture evolves to be most relevant within the current era, so must are our Ritual practices.

In this highly interactive class, we will learn to create an intentional environment with a structure and outline for a basic ritual practice. Within this space, we will collectively engage with practices for connecting with the life-force of Creation and thus make offerings of substance and nourishment. We will delve into the technology of Prayer and cultivate our innate awareness and alliance with the Great Mystery. In this magic-making way, we refine our ability to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds and make the Beauty we want to see in the world.
